Mechanical Control Panel 90 Sound Effects
Mechanical Control Panel is a set of 90 short interface and mechanism cues designed for industrial control panels, cockpit interfaces, adventure and puzzle games, sci-fi scenes, and other game UI. Its sound palette centers on dry, tactile metal, plastic, bakelite, and rubber, with spring ticks, dial detents, lever and latch movements, rail stops, and hinge sounds. The cues are intended to pair with controls and animations while leaving room for dialogue and music.
The pack covers 30 named actions, with three versions of each action (v01–v03). Its six categories contain 15 cues apiece:
| Category | Cues | Actions represented |
|---|---|---|
| Buttons & Keys | 15 | Press a push button; release a push button; press a mechanical key; release a mechanical key; double-press a button. |
| Knobs & Dials | 15 | Turn a rotary control by one detent; turn through dial detents; reach a rotary stop; push in a knob; pull out a knob. |
| Levers & Toggles | 15 | Toggle on; toggle off; move a lever forward; return a lever; lock a lever in place. |
| Latches & Locks | 15 | Close a latch; open a latch; slide a bolt to lock; slide a bolt to unlock; flip open a safety cover. |
| Slides & Rails | 15 | Move a slider a short distance; move a slider a long distance; open a rail drawer; close a rail drawer; reach a rail end stop. |
| Panels & Covers | 15 | Open a panel; close a panel; open a hinged cover; close a hinged cover; turn a panel fastener. |
| Total | 90 | 30 actions, three versions each. |
Bind press-down and release cues to their matching input events so each action has distinct feedback. Choose one version for a consistent response, or rotate v01–v03 across repeated interactions to reduce repetition. Balance playback levels in your game's mix and sync each cue's attack and movement to the corresponding control animation.
The pack provides 90 WAV files (44.1 kHz, 16-bit PCM) and 90 OGG Vorbis files (44.1 kHz) covering the same 90 cues, for 180 files total. WAV peaks target approximately −1 dBFS. Each cue uses a 10 ms trim margin and 5 ms fades. Choose a format according to your project's playback, delivery, and storage needs.
The browser preview uses 90 low-bitrate OGG Vorbis files at 22.05 kHz, mono, approximately 32 kbps. These preview files are for browser listening; the downloadable originals are the 44.1 kHz WAV and OGG files described above.
